A new era

It’s a big month for Hong Kong as it launches its new Network Operations Centre (NOC) alongside receiving the top award in the 5G mobile operator category, and ISO certification for its environmental, and health and safety management systems.

A new era has begun with the unveiling of Three Hong Kong’s new NOC, the heart and mind of any mobile network and the engine room that can make or break a smooth mobile experience for millions of users. The new NOC is well positioned to manage huge volumes of data and voice traffic, as well as application performances.

Equipped with a cutting-edge AI system, Three’s next generation NOC has evolved to digital maintenance management. Higher operational efficiency will be achieved with the frequency of daily network alarms being substantially reduced by AI compression and automation. The superior service quality monitoring, coupled with proactive analytics of network traffic and usage pattern, will allow Hong Kong to prepare for the next generation 5.5G and 6G!

Winning the “Best in 5G Mobile Operator” category at the Digital EX Awards 2022, is another proud moment for Three in November 2022. The industry award recognises Three’s excellence in digitalised services and positive customer experience.

Proving that it does more than just provide for its customers, Three Hong Kong is committed to its role as an industry leader in promoting sustainable development, environmental protection, as well social and corporate governance.

After undergoing stringent assessment, the company was awarded ISO 14001:2015 environmental management systems and ISO 45001:2018 occupational health and safety management systems certification by Bureau Veritas Certification Hong Kong Limited.

ISO 14001:2015 requires the company to establish policies that mitigate adverse effects on the natural environment in view of the lifecycle of products including, but not limited to, reducing office waste, correct disposal of construction debris and used batteries, reducing paper usage to achieve a paperless office, and careful selection of business partners.

ISO 45001:2018 demonstrates the company’s dedication to improving the standard of its workplace safety by eliminating hazards and danger, and preventing work-related injury and ill health. An occupational health and safety committee has been set up as a channel for colleagues to communicate potential safety issues directly to top management.
