Oracle advances

Hutch Sri Lanka has reached another major milestone in its journey, with the implementation of the Oracle Fusion Cloud Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. As Sri Lanka’s fastest-growing mobile broadband operator, the decision to go with the Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, over another ERP, will have positive and long-lasting benefits for Hutch. The ERP will allow Hutch to seamlessly connect all of its business processes and free up more time to focus on the big picture.

Oracle Fusion has the added advantage of providing continuous innovation updates. Hutch will be able to focus on business goals while the system intelligently automates labour intensive tasks including expense reporting, project management, procurement, risk management and compliance. It will save many hours of time previously spent gathering, reconciling and validating data.

Hutch’s Chief Financial Officer Lalith Fernando said the move “will allow us to transform the business to help achieve our goals while adhering to global best practices. The Oracle ERP system is a complete, modern cloud ERP suite that offers us advanced capabilities such as AI, to automate the manual processes, analytics to react to market shifts in real-time and automatic updates to stay current and gain a competitive advantage.”

In spite of the pandemic, the implementation went smoothly and was facilitated by Hutch’s parent CK Hutchison Holdings, through its global innovations arm CKH IOD. LOLC Technology Limited with EVOSYS Global, an International Platinum Partner for Oracle, spearheaded the project, with Hutch also consulting PWC-Sri Lanka.
