In spite of tough economic times in Sri Lanka, Hutch recently hosted the ‘Gaurawabhimana’ Retailer Awards Ceremony to recognise and reward the exceptional performance of its key retail partners during the first four months of 2023.
Following economic collapse in 2022, large and small businesses alike have struggled to survive. Promoting hope and good will, Hutch pledged to sustain a network of small retail partners, paramount to the Hutch business. The four-month initiative, launched at the beginning of the year, resulted in the ‘Gaurawabhimana’ Retail awards. Hutch honoured the Top 50 Retail Partners spanning the entire country, who have performed exceptionally well during the rebuild phase.
The grand ceremony included offering ‘Gold coins’ as appreciation for their unwavering commitment. Although 2023 has been a slow path to recovery, Hutch’s morale boost is inspiring hope, revival and the promise of better days in business.
Hutch Sri Lanka CEO, Thirukumar Nadarasa said, “This marks the beginning of a return to normalcy. After three years of unprecedented challenges caused by the pandemic and the economic crisis, I am delighted to celebrate with our champions who have demonstrated their exceptional performance, dedication, and resilience in sustaining our operations throughout the trying times.”
Hutch is equally committed to its own economic revival and plans to out-perform industry growth by building exceptional relationships with trade partners despite the tough times. A second season of the initiative is underway for a further 4 months.
Also in retail – and back by popular demand – is the second season of Hutch’s ‘Unlimited Shopping Fiesta’. After the huge popularity of the first round, Hutch is offering another group of shoppers the chance to win unlimited shopping packages, which will provide significant economic relief to struggling families.
