In another industry first, Hutch signed a partnership with edotco Services Lanka (Private) Limited towards the development of 500 custom-built multipurpose smart street lamp posts.
Countrywide, the deployment of the new infrastructure will improve the mobile data industry in Sri Lanka by helping telecom operators reduce data congestion. If built sustainably and innovatively, the custom-built smart street lamp posts will provide a more positive experience for Hutch customers.
Hutch CEO, Thirukumar Nadarasa said, “We are pleased to sign this agreement with edotco, our valued infrastructure partner. Deployment of these infrastructure services will enhance lives by extending telecommunication services to the people in quicker and more efficient ways. The effort taken by edotco to collectively contribute to Sri Lanka’s digital ambitions of achieving equitable digital access for all citizens is highly commendable.”
