Supporting #hackthecrisis

As part of its response to the pandemic, Tre Sverige has sponsored and judged ‘Hack The Crisis’, an initiative organised by the Swedish government, in partnership with the Agency For Digital Government (DIGG), Openhack and Hack For Sweden.

The hackathon aimed to design, test and execute ideas, using digital technology, that can save and improve lives and businesses during and after the crisis. Explore the solutions here https://www.hackthecrisis.se/winners?

Chief Digital Officer at Tre Sverige, Jonas Knape, sat on the high-profile judging panel, and commented, “It was great to see with what commitment the participants took up the challenge and I am impressed with all the contributions.” He saw over 7000 participants gather digitally over a period of 48 hours, judging entries in three categories, and contributing his insights into how mobile operators like Tre Sverige can help at a time like this.

Alongside this, Tre also reinforced its support for ECPAT – the organisation that campaigns for child rights, and against child sexual exploitation. In a moment when everyone, including children, are online more and susceptible to the threats of abuse and grooming, ECPAT’s work is of exceptional importance – and Tre continues to support its helpline, as co-founders the organisation’s telco committee. And as an extra show of unity, Tre also donated its entire chocolate budget at Easter to ECPAT.
