Following its preview at last month’s CKHH Telco Brands Forum in the UK, Vietnamobile continues to roll out its ingenious King SIM campaign. In its first week of launch in October, the disruptive campaign gained nearly 13 million organic views on TikTok. A first for Vietnamobile.
The goal of the campaign was to target the country’s younger data hungry population with an unorthodox marketing ploy. A fake news report in mockumentary style shows protesters marching in the streets against the outrageous SIM offer, followed by a news flash about responsible data usage.
The King SIM, referred to as the “Never-before-seen King”, offers new and existing customers an unbelievable data offer of 20GB/day and a 200 minutes off-net voice bonus.
The outstanding viewership and interaction on TikTok and other social media, namely Facebook, has increased brand awareness and will allow Vietnamobile to increase its share in a market dominated by State-owned telcos.
