Following on from this year’s International Women’s Day theme #BreakTheBias, Three’s Chief Information Officer, Belinda Finch was invited to speak at the One Tech World virtual conference, held by WeAreTechWomen on 1April.

With only 21% of jobs in the tech world held by women, WeAreTechWomen, a UK-based organisation, encourages women from all backgrounds to consider tech careers, so that we can collectively build products and systems that are truly inclusive.

Belinda was joined in the lounge by founder of WeAreTheCity.com, Vanessa Vallely OBE CCMI, to dispel the myths and perceived barriers that prevent women from taking the plunge into a career in technology. Belinda shared insights on her personal journey and the obstacles she faced to reach her role as CIO of Three.

The virtual conference gives global female technologists an opportunity to network, learn new skills and broaden their technology horizons. Now in its seventh year, the conference has helped to upskill over 5,000 women working in technology.
